Stripped head front action screw! What do I do now? Thanks.
Model 10 PH Max 1
Drill the head off. Keep bit centered and drill until the head seperates from the threads. Use bit close to size of threaded portion of screw to prevent damage to stock pillar
With the back action screw out the stock will slide off. Then you can remove threaded portion of front screw by hand from the action
Then replace with a hex head screw from Lowe's or Home Depot. Trim new screw to length with a hack saw or Dremel tool, then file smooth.. Might as well as replace rear action screw at same time to minimize the tools you need to maintain the rifle.
You can kill two birds with one stone by using a counter-clockwise turning drill bit ( a left hand drill bit). No tool box should be without a set. Easily remove right hand fasteners whose heads have stripped. As the cutter works it way into the screw it'll back out. BINGO! Done.
