Here's a brief intro. I just retired about 1-1/2 years ago and seem to have started a small collection of family heirlooms......
My Dads 22 single shot Springfield which I learned to shoot on
My FIL's 22 single shot Winchester and also his Sears (Stevens 520A) 20 ga pump
My Grandfathers Crescent 410 SxS which I learned to shoot on
Lastly a relative's Savage model 1903 22 pump....which I've become quite attached to.
Not a hunter any more at my age, but do like to shoot trap now and then plus go to the local ranges w the 22's.
Will probably be looking for some advice on the Savage 1903. Looks like a great site...I look forward to being here.

Welcome! I'm also in Illinois in the NW burbs. Let me know if you ever want to get into building up savage centerfire rifles. I'll never turn down the opportunity for a new range buddy.
