Need help with base mounts!!!
I have a 110 7mm. It's an older non Accutrigger model. Not sure what year. I bought Weaver brand mounts for what the package says is for 110. I mounted them and rings on fine but when I mounted the scope the rings were too far apart. Are the mounts different for short vs long action? The box didn't specify, but that's the only thing I could think of.
Re: Need help with base mounts!!!
Sounds like you need extension rings,or a scope with scope with a longer main tube.
Re: Need help with base mounts!!!
2 piece bases are the same for 10 and 110. long savages with 2 piece bases do not like short scopes. If you use extension rings and have to turn them both in You will have the scope to far forward which equals long eye-relief and you crawling up the stock to focus.
Re: Need help with base mounts!!!
The best option is one of the many one piece picitiny style rail mounts. This allows long action owners the ability to mount shorter scopes by allowing them to move the rings closer together. These also faciltate the locating of the scope for proper eye relief.

Re: Need help with base mounts!!!
I actually found a two piece base for a pre-2003 110 without Accutrigger. Looks like it will fit the flat receiver better but not sure if it will help the spacing issue. It did specify it was for a long action. We'll see if that helps. I hope it does.
