300 BLK Dies
I can't seem to find a good answer to my question. I've got a .300-.221 AR thats just fine. Reloading
for it with Redding dies and cutting down LC brass and forming with a Redding form/trim die also.
I am looking at a 300 Blk barrel on the group buy through GS but need to know whether I need
the AAC Blk dies or not. Can the 300 Blk be loaded safely with the 300-221 dies or will I need to
purchase the new dies?

Re: 300 BLK Dies
I believe that the only difference in the cases and chambers is the neck length and resulting case length. The datum line is the same and headspace dimensions are the same as a result. The .300BLK is longer which isn't an issue since it is spec'd as a cut down .223 case instead of a necked up .221 Fireball.

Re: 300 BLK Dies
I have a barrel on order at Midway for a 300 AAC Blackout(7.62x35) and am looking for a set of dies, see different places for ammo BUT don't see dies as yet but still looking.

Re: 300 BLK Dies
Forster, Lee, Redding and Hornady all make dies. All but the Lee are in stock at Midway right now.
