Until the recent Walmart inventory reduction sale, the lowest pull weight I had seen on an Axis was 5.5#, but a friend got a Muddy Girl Axis combo for his daughter that had a clean 3# pull out of the box. Maybe Savage has stepped up and fixed the biggest complaint on the Axis.
Mine is so good, I am afraid to remove the stock to see what they did...probably lightened the spring. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!:redface-new:
Good rule.
Probably just a lighter weight spring wire. Can't see them making any changes to other parts as it would likely just be cheaper to put the AccuTrigger into the base Axis.
BTW, are all of the Axis rifles shipping with the new style magazines now?
New style Magazine? I bought a .308 this summer (June) and th. mag looks exactly like the the .243 I got 3 years ago. I ended up with the M-Carbo trigger kit on both. Would have gone with the Axis II, but it isn't offered in southpaw
Several guys around here reported buying new rifles or ordering spare mags online that came with magazines that had this new plastic bottom plate with an updated retention system design. This was back in July and haven't heard/seen much more about them since.
