Yes. Usually it involves machining a measured amount off the barrel end of the brake or adding shims to get it to line up the way it should.
I just shim mine since it's less money.

i just ported the barrel on my 308 helps alot but alot loader too
my local gunsmith charges me 35 bucks
I wouldn't recommend doing any porting where the rifling is in the barrel. screw on ports do the job after the bullet has left the rifling. if you port in the rifling you will loose muzzle velocity.
im sorry but i disagree i havent seen any lost of velocity in my loads with the barrel port or without it
