Read a bit and saw some 110gr v-max that looks promising. Any other bullets I should consider? Could you share your experiences please? I prefer something can find factory loaded, but is not necessary.

I run 47.5 grains of Varget under a 110 Sierra Varminter bullet, and it does one-hole groups at 100 yards. This load is pulled from Brad Suave, and is .5 grains under starting.

The Hornady 110 Tap's shot awesome out of my 308.Quote:

Barnes TSX Bullets, .308, 110 grain are available for reloading.
Choices are limited on Factory 110 grain ammo, I believe Ultramax also has 110's
I didn't see any "Factory" 110 V-Max loads, but I bet this would be one nice round to reload!
My staple varmint load when useing 110 V max's is 44gr of H4198, good for 3500 fps and it's easy on brass.
Thanks Dean
I have always had good luck with the 110gr Hornady in a 308. It even shot well in a 300 RUM! (copper plated my sandpaper textured bore on my Remington 700 barrel though)
125gr nosler with a case full of W-748 coyotes hate this load.

I'm thinking V-Max for lessing the probability of ricochet. I was looking at a few others (6BR, 22BR, etc.) as well, but barrel and reloading will not work. I have to choose one or the other, and I think reloading will have better benefits.
Once upon a time-one of my paid duties was shooting feral dogs on a military Airbase I used everthing from Full-Auto M16s to 44 Mag Winchester M94s! Plus Shotguns!
My best load was 110grSierra JHP over a max load from the Speer #8 Manual. It pushed that 110 JHP +3200 fps and ate German Shepard-size feral dogs for lunch where they chose to stop and look! DRT!
I'm shooting 110 V-max out of my .308. I run 46gr AA2230 and seat to COL 2.74. This is pushing 3300fps, and is quite accurate out to 200 so far.
+2... 125 TNT is BAD when it hits... it tares things APART!... and i have seen .5 groups at 200y from a GAP 308 with that load..Quote:
