I have seen them used out to 600 yards. If no wind they can be competitive. I would never buy an AR for F-Class, but if you have one come out to a match and have fun.

How about joining the CMP and shooting in the service rifle matches.
I have a couple of AR's and a Model 12 VLP in .223 (not sure of the twist in any of 'em).
All kinds of competitions I would like to play in, so little time & money.
Was just curious if anyone was using a scoped flat-top AR. Never read a rule that prevented it, but never seen results saying it's happening.
I've shot with folks using AR flat tops with a scope and bipod shooting in F/TR. And again in F/TR you are only shooting against other bipod shooters shooting .223 and .308
I have shot F class with an AR. I didnt shoot spectacularly, but that may be more on the shooter than the rifle.
I was competative with it. Shoot it and try it out.
I believe IBS now has a class for the AR's. Look them up. Most of the matches are out to 300yds.
you can shoot service rifle class with the ar's
I knew a fella who shot F-Class with an AR-10. F-Class uses the NRA slow-fire prone rules so you will load one round at a time.
When is your next match at the Pascagoula DCM range?Quote:
