rear pillar from brownells
i was on brownells site going to order some pillars for my stevens 200 and i seen that thet sell a REAR pillar made by savage. there is no image available (of course) of the pillar. I was wondering if this pillar is already notched or what the design of this pillar is. anyone seen one, used one or know anything about it? it would be nice if it was prenotched and not have to do after the fact.

And they even have them in stock!
Re: rear pillar from brownells
I used a pair in my Stocky's LRV. They're notched & fit nicely. I did have to relieve a little wood near rear pillar to get intimate contact to action. This meant recutting clearance @ tang also. In my case the rear pillar could have been a bit longer. Your case, maybe not. Have fun :D

Buy some threaded lamp rod from your local hardware store.

Cut it to length and notch it yourself. It's always the right length and the threads give the epoxy something to grip onto when you bed the pillars in the stock.

I always just use the lamp rod or a roll pin
