cutting off Model 24 barrels
I just bought a mid 70's vintage beater Model 24 and I am going to cut the barrels to 18.5". Has anyone done so and how has the cut effected point of impact on the 22 lr barrel? I'm guessing that all that needs to be done is move the barrel straps back and relocate the front sight, recrown and go to it. I know the choke will be gone on the lower barrel, but that's OK.
Any insight will be appreciated!!!

Re: cutting off Model 24 barrels
Why are you cutting it down? Is one of the barrels bulged or buggered up some how?
Seems like alot of work for nothing, your accuracy on both barrels will take a loss.

I have a 24v with cut back barrels with screw in choke tubes for the 20 ga. It shoots very well with 38 spl & 357 loads, made it a relly net easier to carry rifle . I love it !
