Got my .243 AI out finally now a couple of Qs. long
Its a 12lrp action with a criterion .243 AI barrel on it.
For the first 20 rounds I had horizontal stringing issues with the factory federal premium .243 55gr nozlers.
I was very confident in my shots but there would always be fliers. Could just be factory ammo variances.
I took it back to the shop to clean it and after taking the action out of the stock and checking it over really well I fount the big bolt screw loose. I don't know if that would cause the horizontal stringing or not but I took it out for another 15 rounds and it was better but it was getting colder and windier, hard to feel the trigger finger.
Anyway here are the last two 5 shot groups. Then some questions. Seems like its going to be a pretty good shooter if I can get rid of those fliers, kinda like I would be the best race car driver if I could just drive faster:rolleyes:

I load my .223 with Wilson hand dies and I neck turn those because its a tight neck chamber.
For the .243 I bought some regular lee collet dies to use for neck sizing and a Wilson bullet seater. Now I am kinda wanting to use a bushing neck die because it works out better fro me not having to get the rock chucker out at all. I kinda wanted to avoid neck turning for this as it not a tight neck chamber and I though I might avoid the hassle. How do you size the bushing if you don't neck turn?
Anyone that has a favorite non varget (don't have any and its scarce around here) .243 ackley loads with light bullets is welcome to share.
btw its a stainless 26 inch 1/14 twist (I don't care about heavy bullets in this one)
