Here is a Picture of my Son-in-law's new flatside SSK-50. He hasn't got to shoot it yet, but hopefully soon.
Come on guys let's see them

I'm curious about the numbers of flatside vs linx models that they're producing. I intend to take whatever they have but I personally think the flatside is a little underwhelming in appearance and I hope they'll have a linx model available when my opportunity comes up. :)
To each his own but I like the bead blasted finish that matches the barrel on SS.
Is stainless the only option or is there a blued option?
Looks pretty nice to me! If your son-in-law is disappointed with it let me know - I'll take it! Have fun!! And what caliber is that barrel?
Jules, I like the Cat also
It appears SSK is making Contender actions. What is the lead time and price?
The Thompson Center factory offered a flatside option for years. I believe the intent was to provide a "canvas", so to speak, for after-market embellishment, such as engraving of the owners choosing. As a "finished" firearm, I agree it's rather bland. But I've never been a fan of the factory as-cast offerings, so the flatside, with the option to "make it my own" someday, appeals to me more.
Are the new SSK-50 receivers any different than the old ones? Can they be re-cocked after letting the hammer down if no shot is taken or do we still have open and close the action?
…… which you’ve never really had to completely open the action. Hold the action closed and pull back on the trigger guard at the same time to reset.
Thanks for the info. I did not know that you could hold the action shut and just pull the trigger guard. You learn something new every day.
Thanks
