Need help identifiing '99 variants
After reading Murray's excellent book on the Savage '99, I'm still left with a few questions I could use help with, specifically:
* Was the 99-T drilled and tapped for scope mounts?
* Were the bolts on the 99-E, 99-A Saddle, and 99-CD(1975) damascened?
* When were the 99-C(1965) and 99-375 discontinued?
Any help would be greatly apprciated.

No the T wasn't factory D&Td.
No, the CD,s A's and E model did not have damescened bolts. The post mil F's did as well as the C's and I think the DL's did as well.
The C's were discontinued in the mid 1990's and the last few of them were made in Spain and were not of very good quality at all. Most of them had head space issues. They were made by Llama and the serial numbers started with an L.
The 99-375 was introduced and discontinued in 1980 and trust me when I say it's the best damn deer gun I've got in the cabinet.
