Savage SA DBM with side bolt release ?

I have a Savage model 14 walnut stock with the 4.4 spacing, DBM cutout and side bolt release?

What action years did this fit?

It looked like the DBM was only for the bottom bolt release????

Has anyone attached a 4.27 action to a 4.4 stock? It looks like I could drill out the front hole so the spacing is the same and with epoxy? could get the 4.27 action in.

The tough part would be the DBM stock covering, but both plastic and stainless could be reworked.

The old Sharp Shooter Supply DBM would fit either action lengths. It had a reversable oval bushing for the front action screw hole for this application I believe.
