Rayners May 1000 yard steel plate match results.

Here are the results from the May steel plate match shot at Rayners Range here in Ohio. I think that the top 4 out of 5 shooters shot a Savage rifle this month. I shot my new Savage model 11 with a Shilen Select Match 260 barrel for the first time and even after missing my first 3 shots due to a wrong elevation setting at 300 yards and did reasonably well. My son also shoots a Savage 260 set up identical to mine. We can interchange our ammo between both rifles and also both long range pistols.

In all honesty after shooting these Savage LR rigs I wouldn't trade anyone for any custom they own, we couldn't have dreamed they'd be so accurate and shoot right up there with the high dollar customs at those distances. It's amazing you can put together a rifle from parts gathered from various manufactured and assemble it on your kitchen table and instantly be competitive in long range competition. Kudos to Savage for listening to the shooters.
