model 720 AGAIN
I'm finally back to this model 720 almost a year later. I need to find a magazine retaining screw. I've checked the usual parts houses I know of and cannot find one. Does anyone know where I might find this screw?
Thanks for any leads you can supply.

Re: model 720 AGAIN
The Savage 720 was basically a copy of the old Browning Standard humpback auto, and many of the parts will interchange. I used the friction rings and spacer from a Browning in my 16 gauge Savage 720, and they worked perfectly. Gun Parts Company carries a lot of Browning parts that may fit your gun, or they did ther last time that I looked.

Sawfish,
Thanks. I'll check and see what I can find but I do know my A5 doesn't have anything like the screw that's missing.

Re: model 720 AGAIN
You can try sending an e-mail to the Savage Custom Shop. They do all of the restorations for Savage. They might have an idea where you can find the screw you need, or at least tell you the size, screw thread, etc..

Sawfish,
Thanks! I'll check with them and see what I can come up with. I'd sure like to get this finished.
Have a good Thanksgiving.

Re: model 720 AGAIN
No joy from the Savage Custom Shop so I'm still looking for the part. I guess I might have to find a scrap model 720 that has the screw on it to complete the repairs.
