Targets fro today (9/3/11)
I took my Savage 12FV .223 out to the range today to work on some 75gr BTHP Varget loads. I already found that this rifle is insanely accurate. I got some awesome groups using H335, but I wanted to see what I could do with Varget.
Rifle: Savage 12FV .223 26" barrel
Scope: Mueller 4-16x 50AO
Range: 100yds from a rest
5-shot group using the Hornady 75gr BTHP, Remington cases, CCI 400 primers, seated 2.250" and 23.5gr of Varget.

And just to make sure my rifle still liked the 55gr Vmax load of 24.0gr H335, a 7-shot group.........

Re: Targets fro today (9/3/11)
nice shootin ;D its great to see one that will shoot any bullet like that. mine wont shoot light bullets for nothing ::) but just loves 68gn bthp ontop of 25gns of varget ;D
Re: Targets fro today (9/3/11)
Try some RL15 with the heavier bullets. You just might find a little bit more accuracy.
Re: Targets fro today (9/3/11)
the lighter bullets will do well out to 3-400 yards at a reduction in expense, you are correct your rifle is doing very well, will it print 10 5 shot groups consistently, most people i know will display their one good group and discard the rest.
