Savage 12FV .223 and 75gr Hornady BTHP
Took my Savage out to the range to work on some 75gr loads for the rifle. I've got super groups with 40gr V-max, 55gr V-max and 55gr FMJ. Wanted to give the 75gr a whirl. The rifle is a 12FV .223 with 1:9 twist wearing a Mueller 4-16x 50AO scope. Range was 100 yards.
This load is 21.5gr H335 with COL at 2.250"

This is with 22.0gr of H335

Good shooting. I'm kind of surprised that the 1:9 twist stabilized the 75 gr bullets. Usually you want a minimum of 1:8 for 75+ gr bullets.

You've picked the perfect combo.... mine will print this kind of group all day long. However, work you load carefully. This load was confirmed in two different rifles and is currently used in 500 yard F Class.
