Can I swap bolt heads without affecting the time and true job Fred did? I do not see how it would affect it but want to be sure.

Can I swap bolt heads without affecting the time and true job Fred did? I do not see how it would affect it but want to be sure.
it would void the true work he did to the head, but affect nothing else
If you bought a worked bolt head from SSS it would not change a thing.
When you get you t&t job done I thought you only sent the action and bolt.
For SSS to do a T&T job they need a compleate action and bolt assembly. (Trigger, and all the parts) The question deals with the bolt head, which is attached to the bolt. SSS does extensive work in the bolt head area in a T&T job.Quote:

The fact that the "bolt head" still moves a bit in the bolt body, other than taking a little off the front surface to make it square, there's not much else that can be done to the "bolt head" or am I missing something? ???
SSS does a few different things to the bolt head, when they do the work, and they all contribute to a better working bolt head.
Or you can do what I did.
when SSS T&T my action( 22-250) , I bought a complete bolt for a 223, which was part of the T&T .
I know , for $45-50, I could have just got a bolt head & changed it my self, but now, when I switch barrels, I just switch bolts.
not a solution for every one, but for me, it's simpler
