Over the past thirty five years I have had the opportunity to field test and evaluate a great deal of long range precision rifle equipment. Some have been high quality, solidly built and well thought out, and others – not so much. As a current member of the Savage Rifle Team, I have been very lucky to get my hands on some really good kit and outstandingly accurate rifles. However, I don’t think I’ve ever been luckier as a precision long range shooter than getting to field test Ashbury’s SuperSport MOD-1 Alloy Series modular rifle chassis. ...

PDC Custom manufactures stocks in the USA from 6061 aluminum bar stock, very strong stuff, I can assure you. They are available in several colors with a few options that should fit into just about any shooting situation.

    First Impression

I will admit to a few reservations about the stock from the get go, but many of those reservations were put to rest very quickly.

Editor's Update: According to Steve Sims at SVL, this slip-on pad is designed to be installed in place of the original recoil pad and not in addition to the original recoil pad as indicated in the article. This would negate any significant increase in length-of-pull as indicated in the article.

Not to long ago Jody had the opportunity to evaluate a SVL LimbSaver 'Grind-to-Fit' Recoil ...

I wanted to get a better recoil pad for my 114W. After looking around, the Limbsaver from Sims Vibration Laboratory (SVL) caught my attention. It looks like an ordinary recoil pad and I was skeptical about SVL's claims. I called SVL and told them what I wanted and they said the Limbsaver will do everything a recoil should do but ...
