• Team Savage Storms Long-Range Competition with Top Finishes

October 10, 2019 - WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – Team Savage braved stormy conditions during the Northern Rockies F-class Long-Range Regional in Missoula, Montana last weekend to bring home big wins for Savage Arms. In spite of high winds, Savage competitors took gold in F-TR, and high individual team scores landed shooters in top places—further testament of Savage’s commitment to world-class accuracy and reliability.
Team Savage took gold in F-TR with members Tom Hubbard, Don Erpenbach and Monte Milanuk. Savage shooters Andrew McLain and David Oakes also joined the team. High individual team scores were shot by Savage shooter and 13-year-old Danny Moseman in F-Open and by Erpenbach in F-TR. Erpenbach shot the high individual team score with a 200-13X. McLain took the overall individual gold and Montana State Championship while Milanuk took the silver and Hubbard took the High Master in F-TR individuals. All Team Savage shooters were shooting the Savage Model 12 Target Action in different configurations.

Winds were manageable on Friday during the Open and F-TR 2 X 1000 Team matches. On Saturday, the storm kicked up with 20-40 mph winds with gusts up to 60 mph. Shooting on Sunday was cancelled due to snow interfering with visibility.

“Team Savage has done it again, claiming top scores in spite of extremely challenging conditions,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing for Savage Arms. “Savage shooters relied heavily on their equipment last weekend to overcome high winds and finish with impressive results. The numbers speak for themselves—competitors who choose Savage products routinely claim top scores in local, regional and national competitions.”

Savage Arms’ Target Series rifles, including the 112 Magnum Target, 12 Benchrest, 12 F Class, 12 F/TR, 12 Long Range precision and 12 Palma, offer a number of industry-leading, performance-enhancing features. One is the AccuTrigger, which allows the shooter to tailor trigger pull for a crisp, light break that perfectly matches their personal preferences. Other Savage benefits include button-rifled, hand-straightened barrels with compulsively consistent bore diameters, zero-tolerance headspace control, floating bolt heads and factory-blueprinted actions.
