The description states "adjustable muzzle brake". How do they adjust? Is the brake removable? Is this rifle on the market yet, I don't see it anywhere.

It’s a simple Savage on-off brake that hasn’t changed since the early 90’s.

Since magunm cartridges are really a little much for most North American game, and a lot much for game in the Southern US. I've been waiting patiently for several years for Savage to adopt the Bear Hunter concept (same features) to standard hunting calibers...could really use a lefty. Will it ever happen? As much as I want one I cant see paying $500+ over retail to the"special order shop" to get this rifle in a standard caliber.

Has this rifle been released by Savage? If so, what distributor would have one?

You could always find one on the big auction site (Gunbroker) and have it shipped to your local FFL.

It's a specialty model, so unless you have a very big (meaning high volume) Savage dealer in the area or you live in bear country where it would be a more popular model you will most likely have to get your dealer to order it from his distributor for you. In this day and age where everyone just buys the cheaper bolt guns (Ruger American, Savage Axis, etc) most dealers aren't stocking the higher end models. Those that do only stock one or two specific models that have proven to be consistently good sellers.

Ho Hum,another plastic stocked Savage. Doesn't even say what calibers it's in.
