Redfield Optics has gone tactical in 2013 with the introduction of their all new BattleZone line of rifle scopes. Since Leupold & Stevens purchased the Redfield Optics brand in 2008, they have been introducing value conscious optics to their line up while keeping in line with Leupold’s noted quality and ruggedness. The new BattleZone ...

One of the two key areas in need of improvement on the Savage Axis is the trigger (the other being the stock in case you were wondering). At present there are two aftermarket options available to replace the rather heavy and non-adjustable factory trigger - one from Rifle Basix and the other from Timney Triggers. First introduced in 2010 as the Savage Edge, the entry level Savage Axis (name changed due to copyright/trademark issues) has taken the shooting world by storm in just a few short years. In fact, last I heard (summer 2012) Savage had sold nearly a quarter million units in two years time which is quite an accomplishment. To put that into perspective, that's 342.5 Axis rifles being sold every single day for two years.

Whether you started out hunting grouse, pheasant, rabbit or squirrel, most likely the first item your dad or granddad gave you was a canvas hunting vest that made you feel like a real hunter. It had that distinctive canvas feel and smell, pockets galore, and if it was used like mine was it even came pre-stained with blood for a little extra luck.

Early last fall I found myself in a bit of a predicament - after several years of memorable use my trusty old hunting vest had given up the ghost and fallen apart. In dire need of a replacement I took to the internet and found several that would suit my needs. The drawback to most of them was that they were shy on any sort carrying ability. ...

    2. Rifle Scope Reviews

Over the course of the latter half of 2012 I found myself consumed by the task of finding just the right optic for my AR-15. My quest was complicated by the fact that I specifically wanted an optic that had a low enough magnification on the bottom end to allow it to function reasonably well as a close-quarters reflex-style sight, but also have enough magnification on the top end to allow for precision shooting out to 300 yards or more. ...
