    2005 proved to be a big year for Savage as it marked the launch of the center-feed magazine system in select models. This was also the year the Model 14/114 American Classic was introduced, as well as the Model 210FT Turkey Gun, the Model 40 Varmint Hunter, and the Mark II-FVT with peep sights. 2005 also marked the introduction of the Stevens 200 and the .17 Hornady Mach 2 rimfire cartridge.

    Below is a copy of the 2004 Savage Arms print catalog in PDF format. The most notable introduction for this year was the expanded application of the famed AccuTrigger to additional models. A new hunting version of the AccuTrigger was developed with a 2.5 to 6-pound pull weight and was now the standard trigger for all Hunter, Muzzleloader, Ultra Lite and Weather Warrior Series models. This was also the first year for the Model 12 Varminter Low-Profile.

The most notable introduction for this year was the all new award winning AccuTrigger on the Law Enforcement and Varmint Series models. This new fully user adjustable trigger system offered a 1.5 to 6-pound range while still maintaining the highest degree of safety.     To begin let me start by saying that this is only the tip of the iceberg, I could write a 2nd article just on the iron sights themselves and the different ones for different models. What Ill try to do with this short article is give you an idea of what you have for the first time Savage owner. I wont be covering any of Savages newer offerings but rather the old pre-1960s rifles.
