    I
have always admired compact hunting rifles. Their short stature, lightweight, and balance make them a good choice if you hunt in heavy brush country, thick forests, and swamplands where a traditional long rifle really isn't needed.

Last summer I happened to pick up a stainless steel barrel at a very cheap price. It was a rather unusual looking piece being it had been fluted in a radial pattern. It was also different in the fact it had started life as a 22" medium sporter contour .243 Winchester caliber and was now a 20" 6mm BR Norma. ...

Since those of us who regularly visit this website are true believers in the at-home switch barrel (and bolt head) versatility of the Savage 110 and its successors, I realize I'm preaching to the choir. Suffice to say my enthusiasm for this action as a platform for many uses continues to increase.

I'm sure you are all aware of the flimsy nature of the factory synthetic stock that comes on some Savage models...you should be, we've been over this a thousand times! The great thing about the flimsy factory stock is that it works while keeping the price down. There are however, several very nice upgrades available to the consumer. ...

I have always wanted to go on an African safari. Like most hunters, this was just a dream. That is, until I had the opportunity to go on the Savage Shooters group safari in September, 2005. Now my dream has come true!
