Well it's been about 9 months since I got my Striker in 338/375 Ruger finished, and I finally have a load that I'm happy with. The only reason it took so long is that I can only get out to shoot maybe once a month.

So I started with the 225gr bullets, the Accubond and the TTSX. I got good accuracy, but the velocities were not what I wanted. With a little advice from Neal, I switched powders from H4831 to H4350. H4831 was just too slow for the 18" barrel. Then I switched to the with the 250gr MK and I found a winner. With 76.5gr of H 4350 and the 250gr bullet, I'm able to get 2650 FPS from the 18" handgun barrel. That was the goal when I started this, to get 338 Win Mag rifle ballistics from the handgun. I'm there and I'm happy! ;D

Here's a couple of pics

This is a 6mm BR 105gr A-Max, 300 WSM 185gr Berger VLD, 338/375 Ruger250gr MK, and a 375 Ultra Mag 350gr MK.

100 yard 3 shot group with the 250gr MK is the group in the black. The top group is with the 225 Accubond.

And this is the gun.

Looks pretty good, I'm excited to see the 375 rum improved.

Sinman,
I imagine that the Ruger case is running a little behind your 338 Sin. I considered having a rifle barrel cut with a longer throat to see what I could actually do with this case, but I have too many other projects going right now to worry about that.

I'm pretty excited about the 375 improved as well. I've started accumulating brass and bullets so that it's all ready when the barrel is done. I already have 50 pieces of 375 brass necked up to 40 caliber so I can neck them down and create a false shoulder. That will need to wait until I have a chamber to fit them to. I suppose I need the chamber reamer before any of that can happen though. ::) ;D

375 RUM Improved???

Currently I have dropped from 100grs of Rel 17 to 98grs and the velocities with the 235gr Barnes are unbelievable in my Nitrided 375 RUM!

I went to the RUM case from the 378 Weatherby case because I could not get the velocities I wanted in a short barrel with the amount of slow burning powder required to fill the Weatherby case.

Note: Big bullets going real fast are not for the faint of heart! 260gr Accubonds and above WILL get your attention.

Neal,

The biggest difference between your 375 RUM and the one I'm building is about 11" of barrel, and a rifle stock! ;)

How fast are those 235gr bullets moving?

SO far past 3000 fps Andrew that no one would believe me if I posted.

19" barrel and the stock stops at my grip.
