Well I got my 300 whisper barrel in today from SinArms and it looks great. I had to do some extra work to get everything to go together like I want. I used a Model 12 single shot action and a VLP stock. Well the barrel I got is 1.2" straight taper so I had to open up the barrel channel on the stock. The best way I found to do this is I went to the hardware store and picked up a 1.25" dowel rod and a couple different grit sandpapers, I wrapped the sandpaper around the dowel rod and stapeled it on and began sanding. Started with 120 and worked up to 320 grit. I liked using the dowel rod because it is the same size as the barrel and the stock didn't look butcherd up. Haven't refinished it yet where I sanded. I got the barrel on the action and test fitted and found I needed to do a little more sanding. Finally got it perfect. Took all of an hour to sand the barrel channel and get it right. The barrel is a 1 in 10" twist (I know it won't stabilize the heavy stuff but this build wasn's for that) and finished right at 26". The scope is a Leupold VX-III LR/T 3.5-10x40.

if the barrel was any longer I think it would tip forward on the bipod. What does the gun weigh now 15-16lbs?

It's got to be pushing 15 for sure. I might end up modifying the buttstock and loading it with lead just to give a little balance. I am gonna try and shoot it tomorrow weather pending.
