How big can you go? Feeding from a mag doesn't matter. Removing the bolt to eject live rounds doesn't matter. Only thing that matters is that it is a bottle neck case, no strait walled cases for me. Do they get bigger than the .338 Edge or Lapua?

How about a .408 Chey Tac on a savage large shank action. Would it deal with the recoil or the pressure?

I doubt it.
I remember SSS stating that even a 338 lapua causes problems with the savage action eventually.
Rum is probably about as big as you can go.
