Does anyone know the weight of the LRT?

This will be for a Savage 10 with a CBI Varmint 260 barrel, that I will be using for target and varmint/coyote hunting.

What do you guys think?

I have that stock on a Model 12 Blued action and a CBI 28" barrel in 6BR. Barrel is SS and Varmint Taper. I will say it has some heft to it. I will go weigh the gun if you like and give you a overall weight. I will say it does have some heft to it.

That would be great if you could get a fairly accurate weight on it.. I thought those 28" CBI barrels were the 1" bulls?

Do you guys think the medalist is lighter?

Jim has had them in stock as Varmint and Bull. He had a Varmint the day I ordered so thats what I went with. I'll run down and weigh the gun, give me a few minutes and give you an idea of what you will be looking at.

I'll be back in a few with weight.

My Hart LRT with a M12 Repeater Action, a CBI 28" SS Varmint barrel in 6BR, and my 10-40x50 Osprey (I know a need to get the Vortex or something, all in due time) weighs in at 13lbs 8 ozs. according to my digital fish scale. I have checked it in the past with the certified weights at work and it was dead nutz at 1lb and 10lbs.

Cool, thanks a lot for doing that Boots. Dang that sucker is kinda heavy.. I was hoping to keep this build at around 10-11lbs.

No problem, glad to help. Its funny, you would rather be at 10lbs and I'd rather be at 15-17lbs. LOL :D

Haha.. Ya I hear ya.. I need to be able to carry this one for a few miles once in a while.

Do you like the stock? did you pillar bed it?

screw it, I made a decision and went with the B&C tactical.. I plan to modify it, basically just like this guy did.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Medalist A2. I'm sure there are "better" stocks out there...but probably not at that price point.

I really wish B&C would make one for a long action Savage.

Yes I did use pillars and I also installed one of the NSS recoil lugs and it was a nice squeeze fit into the recoil lug cutout in the stock. My action nicely centered the barrel down the channel and minimal sanding to get the barrel to fit in the channel.

I see you decided to go with the B&C and from what I have heard from the talk on here that it is also a solid choice. I have been thinking of getting one for the next build but it may be awhlie.

Good luck and let us know how it goes for ya.
