Anyone have any luck with this combination?

Some 1/9 will stabilize the 75gr amax, some will not. I had my barrel bored out to .223AI. All I can say is that the combo of RL-15 and the 75 amax is awesome.

Yes, in every Savage 1:9 twist that I have tried....chambered in 223 & 223 AI.

My Dad's stock 12FV in 223 (26" 1:9 twist) shoots them the best of all tips tried. AA 2520 was used and WSR primers.

I use the 75 A-Max in my McGowan barrel all the time.

at 100 & 200 yds, it shoots great.

Same here. I load the 75 gr A-Max over RE-15 and get .500" groups at 100 yards.

.223 firing 75gr Amax through 1-9 twist barrel, superb combination.

I posted some videos a while back, on a topic about "heavy bullets in a .223"

that will give you an example of efectivenes

I've had good luck with that bullet and the 75gr BTHP from Hornady. Using Winchester brass and CCI400 primers, I've had good results from 23.8gr Varget or 24.0gr N140 seated .030" off the lands. In my 10FLP, the HP is more accurate and will regularly shoot .3" @ 100 yds. I need to try longer distances out to 500 yards to see just what they will really do.

My goto load is the Hornady 68gr BTHP over 24.0gr N140. This bullet has produced the elusive .1" groups on several occasions.

I don't have a 223 (or 223AI) that will not shoot that bullet well. None have a slower twist than 1:9.
