Hello, I am not looking for load data. I am making an order for some hornady 130 gr SST to reload for my dads .270. I will be ordering a hornady book as well but I was wondering if someone with a book could answer a couple questions for me. I use Varget, IMR 4350, and H 4895 for the guns I use and I am wondering if any of these 3 powders fall under the 130 gr bullets for the .270? I looked on the hornady site but couldn't find load data. I just don't want to have to make another order after I get the book if the powders i have won't work. Thanks.

I can give you load data for a Hornady 130gr SP bullet. Varget 43gr low-46gr high, IMR4350 50.2 low-55gr high, H4895 42gr low-45gr high.

IMR4350 ran about 100fps faster on the high end then the other two.

Look on the powder companies web sites that is where you will find load info.

i just looked up your load in the newest hornady edition and the only powder they list from the powders you use is the imr 4350. low 47.1, high 54.6(use with caution this is listed as max load).

Good luck, and hope this helped.

Never had much luck controlling the 130 gr SST in my old Mod 110 .270. I use 56.6 gr of IMR 4831 which is under Max in the Hornady 4th edition . I worked up to this load slowly . 130 Hornady SP works better for me

I have no experience with the 130 gr SST - but I reload the 140 gr SST in my step dads Savage 270. 51.5 gr of H4350 powder / CCI BR2 Primers / Mixed brass. Consistant 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards. He took a doe this year - DRT. Very impressed. Looking to load the SST's in my 7mm-08.

..I've never found a Hornady bullet yet that would shoot a hole out of anything I own..Noslers are about all I use..Top hole is out of a cold bbl..After that I got in my zone & clicked off the next 3...I'ld say that's as good as it get's..lol... ;)..130gr Nos.BT, H4350, CCI prs.
