Question: is it possible to cut a match chamber in a in an existing rifle chamber or is there too many things that can go wrong when cutting the new chamber

if you can set the barrel back far enough you can, and if the chamber was cut correctly in the first place

What are you considering a "match" chamber? Seems like everyone has their own idea of what that entails.

Was thinking of doing my Savage FT/R barrel with a Palma Type Chamber, there are several too chose from??

That shouldn't be a problem for any competent gunsmith.

Yes, there a few ".308 Win" chambers to choose from. Not being a seasoned gunsmith, I can't tell you what the details of them are.
