So what kind of recoil reduction is seen with a Sinn Arms muzzle brake? I am interested in this .338 Edge but would like to know how well the brake works.

Here is the shim kit

does the brake have a lip that goes over the od of the barrel?

No, it just shoulders against the barrel/shim. It could be cut that way depending on the OD of the barrel.

So any comment on how effective the brake is?

I use the break on my 338 Sin and I shot 20rds out of a fairly light weight rifle in about an hour. The 300gr bullets were going about 2750fps and I wasn't bothered by recoil and I am no big guy.

So would you say recoil of the .338 Sin was reduced to a .308 maybe a .30-06?

Oh I would say it is close to a 30-06 with say 180gr bullet. Haven't shot an 06 in a while but I would say it is pretty close
