Good Morning,

I've been wanting to get into F-Class shooting and found out that muzzle brakes are not allowed. My problem is that I own a 10-FCP-K which has a muzzle break installed from the factory. Is there any way to remove the brake and replace it with something that will make it legal. I know that I could possible just unscrew it, but the threaded end on the barrel would be tackey to say the least.

Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated, Ken

Numerous postings on this of late. Yes it can be removed. It looks like the break is installed with a crush washer. Find a wrench to fit and twist it off. Should be just that easy. After that do some looking and find a thread projector for the muzzle.

If you don't plan on using it again you could just have a smith cut it off and crown it. I also have seen where you can get caps for the threads for about $40

Great!!! Any idea where that caps for the threads can be found? I like that idea much better than cutting off the barrel.

Thanks for the info, Ken

I know I have seen them a few different places but the one I know for sure is savage-barrels.com under the store tab you have to know the dimensions and TPI though.
