I have had a 25 hornet on order since December and still waiting. Last I heard is Savage has not yet shipped any of these new guns to dealers yet. Have heard maybe in late April.

Well let us know when ya get it, I should order 1 now and see how long it takes. I do think it will make a fine vermin gun. thanks for the reply.

I called Savage today to check on the Savage Mod 25 Walking Varminter in 22 Hornet availability and a Lady there told me they expect to start shipping them in late July. Whitetail

Talked to Savage today was told it will be after first of the year before release due to design changes. Oh well I think it will be worth the wait.

Talked to Bill at Savage today trying to get a Walking Varminter for review (have been trying since April) and was told they're still having problems with the mold for the stock. No estimated timeframe was given, so if you have one pre-ordered I wouldn't try holding my breath while waiting for it to show up.

im also thinking of one in the hornet,
question does the m25 hornet have locking lugs up front instead of locking on the bolt in the rear like the m40

"The Model 25 is a derivative of Savage’s excellent little Model 40, which is chambered for the .22 Hornet. While the outward appearance of the Models 40 and 25 are very similar, the new Model 25 has a three-lug bolt with the locking lugs at the front, has a detachable four-round magazine."

This is a quote from a review on the model 25 in .223 rem.
