So I am down to having to buy the last part to finish the new build and it is the scope. I put an add in the classifieds both here and on 6mmbr.com. I am now flooded with choices that I had never even thought about. Here is the list and what I could get each of them for. Problem for me is I have no experience with any of them except for a bushnell 3200 and it is pretty nice. I am leaning towards the new 4200 but a good fixed 36x sounds good too. How clear are the fixed power 36x scopes compared to the Bushnell 3200 and 4200 glass?

Weaver T36 $360
Sightron SII 36x42 with Hoehn conversion done on turrets - $300
Bushnell Elite 4200 8-32x40 $400 brand new
leupold BR 36x-D - $465

If you are shooting benchrest, yes, the 36X is for you. Otherwise, leave it with the previous owner.

What are you planning to shoot? Yardage?

100/200yd and 600/1000yd. I went with a Bushnell 4200 8-32x40. Just seamed to be more options for the scope if it ever needed to be moved to a new rifle.

Personally, I think you made a good choice.

I love my sightrons but for the choices you had and the prices I agree with GaCop. You made the best choice of what you had avaliable for what you intend to use it for.

Thanks guys. I think that the 4x that the 4200 is going to lack over the T36 or the SII it will make up for in clarity, or so I hope.

I don't think you'll be disappointed by the 4200 at all. Too bad they're discontinued now.
