I have used a 6.5-20x50 Burris FFII and was impressed with the glass and durability of the scope. Just wondering how the Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 compares to the Burris? I am in the market for new glass in this price range and know I like the Burris, but the Vortex has been getting so much hype that it is also catching my attention. Anyone have both of the above for a comparison?

Decisions, decisions...

I don't have the 6.5X20X44, mine is 50mm. I upgraded from a Crossfire to the Viper. I'm blown away by the clarity and contrast. Vortex has one of, if not the best customer service you could ask for.

The Viper is easily a step ahead of the FFII, I would put it in the VXIII class.

I've owned several Burris scopes. The clarity and contrast of a Burris is very good, but not quite equal to a Vortex Viper.

Thanks for the replys. I had my mind set on trying the Viper, but I hopped on Fleebay the other day and there happened to be a new 6.5-20 FFII for $300 with two minutes left, so i scooped it up. I'll have to wait for my next build to try the Viper.

Or buy the viper now then you just have to build a rifle for it.

I have a Fullfield II e1 and a Vortex Diamondback. The Burris is better built and I think the glass is a tad better. I'm not sure if I like the suspended e1 recticle though. It's probably a coin toss between the two.
