View Full Version : Can you identify this aftermarket stock? Quite Nice

This stock was the reason I did a gun deal about a year or so ago. I wanted the stock that came as an additional stock, and everybody wanted to buy just the stock, and not the gun, but he was holding out for a total sale. I bought the whole package to get this beautiful stock, certainly well made, but I can't identify the maker. I think it is a Richard's Microfit? He was selling for a friend and said the friend put a huge amount of time in to it. The stock has a beautiful feel and is for a 4.25 SF action. I want to know the make because I want to list it for sale. I just haven't got around to using it, would like to keep it, but I need the funds. Any idea who made this?

Here are some pics:

I don't know drybean? I know it is the prettiest stock I own, but I have no use for it in the near future. I will think about it, but it would be nice to know the maker to set a price off.

Vince,
That gotta be a Richards Tactical Stock, like the brown/almond one you have. It looks just like it, only without the vents cut into the forend and looks like the bottom has been sanded down to be more smooth. That is my guess.

Heres a pic of my old Richards Tactical to compare the resemblance:

I was thinking more like a Prone Style-Target Culbertson without the vents?. They both look pretty close. Nice finish work. Base stock at about $250.00 and add for the butt pad and any other mods like oversize barrel channel, etc.
I can see a going price of about $350.00 real easy, considering all the finish work that went into it. Very nice stock. Don't think it will last too long. ;)
"Somebody" better jump on it. ;D

Are you going to be able to use a bore guide with that high comb? It looks like it has a cutout for the bolt when it comes back but unless the pics are deceiving I think you'll be removing the barreled action when you want to clean.

It is very attractive!

Psst Vince buddy... don't say anything but the bolt handle hole is on the wrong side......if you keep quiet about it though somebody might buy it anyway ;D
Yes I remember the mag. Tom

It's real hard to tell unless you had both stocks side by side to compare but the Tactical looks to have more taper on the forearm? That's why I was thinking more of the Prone Style. Both ore good looking stocks. And, the high comb "will" make it tough for cleaning from the chamber end. That's why I order all my stocks "without" a cheek piece. Think and plan ahead. ;)

Wow, thanks for all of the input on this. Hey Tom, on the bolt cut out being on the wrong side, just hold it up to a mirror, and it will look right for you. You crazy lefties are not hooked up right. I will have to check on getting a cleaning rod through there since I have never used the stock. You all are a great resource, and hey, no consultation fees.

No consultation fees? We'll send you the bill at the first of the month. ;D
And anybody that shoots left handed has to be in their right mind. ;)

Only left handed shooters are on the right side of the gun. :D
