Anyone have a newer speer manual ?
I am looking for some loads for the 338-06 and their 200 grain spt.
I am wanting loads for..
IMR 4831
IMR 4350
R19
minimum and max loads with velocities if possible.
Thanks in advance.

I have the Speer #14 and it calls the 338-06 a 338-06 A-Square.
For the 200 gr. spitz SP it has no 4831 listing and no rx 19 listing.
IMR 4350 starting at 58.0/2564 fps.ending 62.0 compressed load/2736fps

No IMR 4831 or RL 19,
I had figured as much.
THANKS for the IMR 4350 information.

those powders seem a touch on the slow side. 4064, varget, 4007, or blc2 would be alot better choices i would think.

Yes, it is slow,
However, I have had great luck with it in my 270 and 30-06, which is why I am scratching my head trying to figure out why they will not use it in the 338-06.
I also see it in the 8mm-06 loads in some manuals ?
06 parent case.
?
Thanks

the 338-06 hasnt got much of a bottleneck which is gonna call for a faster powder

;D
Started with 59 grns imr 4350 and 200 grn speer spt.
1 1/4 " at 100 yds.
Then up to 60 grns imr 4350 and 200 grn speer spt.
1" at 100 yds.
My groups shrank with the increase in powder.
The hottest I tried was 61 grains imr 4350 and I had 5 shots touching at 100 yards. Right at 3/4".
I shoot a A & B 338-06 barrel on a stevens 200 action.
I had my barrel fluted and also my Bolt by SSS.
I installed a durramax stock.
It wears a burris 11/2 x 6 signature on warne rings and bases.
Thanks for the speer manual information.
Now I need my tags.
Thanks again

sierra lists RE-19 for there 215gr SBT 2400fps / 58.1gr to 2700fps / 65.8gr

there suggested accuracy load is 59.4 and hunting load is 65.8 both using the RE-19

RE, RL, RX depends on the book. only powder that has more then one prefix abbreviation. at least the number 19 is a constant.
