This is something new for me as my last one was a 1:14 twist. Just looking for some good solid loads to start with. 105gr VLD's are on the top of my list as well as the brand new 105gr hornady target bullets whenever I can find them. I am not against the sierra bullets but to be honest I have not had great luck with the SMK's in the past. I also like to find super accurate varmint loads with lighter Ballistic tips or V-max bullets. I have some 80gr Nosler BT's here waiting. Barrel is 28" long.

30 grs is TOO HOT in my 30" mcgowen, Walt Berger told me to start at 28gr varget and work up with the 105's

I've noticed Walt's data supplied by running "Quickload" is usually much lower than what many forum shooters are using.

drybean pretty much hit it on the head...

My gun is a stock Savage F class in 6mmBR

I have been using Varget in Lapua cases with what I would consider good but not great results. Mid to upper .2's and low .3's These are ONLY 3 shot groups @ 100yds. I was wanting to see the crono results.

THIS LOAD IS SAFE IN MY GUN, IT MIGHT NOT BE SAFE IN YOURS.....

Used RL 15 to see if that would make a difference.
No real pressure signs, primers were not cratered, nor flattened had nice rounded edges looking through a jewlers loop. All specs were within acceptable ranges when mic'd. FPS were 2925. So I continued with the 31.2 loads. Checking each case after every shot.

The group with the 31.2 of RL15 and Berger 105VLD .0015 into the lands and a BR4 primer SHOT ON HOLE at .110" Crono readings were as follows:

High 2935.8
Low 2926.1
SD 4.8
CV 0.16%
MAD 3.4
CV 0.12
Avg. 2931.1
ES 9.2

Only have 166 down the tube but I think I have found a starting point. I have the best accuracy with the Burgers, best ES/SD with the A-Max and nothing exciting with the Sierra's, but I may have to try them jumped.

I've been using a 105 a-max and 29.5g of Varget loaded to published coal, with a rem br primer. It was the third load I tested the first day I shot it and it shoots in the .4's at 200. It isn't the fastest (never chronoed it) but it works for me. I haven't tried anything else yet. Oh ya, the barrel is a 26" varmint contour LW prefit.

My Lothar Walther 6mm Br barrel likes 29.1 grains of Varget pushing a 105 grain A-Max. I'm seating .013" into the lands and so far, the load is averaging .478" at 100 yards. My SD is averaging 10.2 and the ES-27. Velocity on my Beta Chrony is averaging 2775 fps (set up 10' from the muzzle).
