I brand new to your forum! I have Savage model 11, 22" barrel and looking for a load using the 95 gr Berger. Got H4831sc and H414 on the shelf. Anyone got a good load using these powders? Seating depth info important too! Barrel twist is 9 1/4. What kind of MV should I expect.
Thanks

Wow, I got some loaded sitting on the bench right now for my sons 243 model 11 22" 9.25 twist. Waiting for some better weather to shoot. For starters loaded some with IMR4064, Varget, and Imr4350. Will post how they do on Sunday, hopefully. Berger 95gr BT Target.

Well the Varget did the best with 39.4grs, shot .726" 3 shot group. Varget was the most consistent in all loads. Tinker with what you have, I'm sure you'll find something that works.

Looking for the same info. Going to load a few and hopefully make it out today. Just out of curiosity and I know every gun is different, what did you end up with a COAL? Didn't want to spend alot of time at different depth if someone found a good starting point. Thanks, Eric

I should have joined years ago!!

I have shot a lot of 95 Gr Berger VLD in a 243, and did very well in the 4 IBS 600 yard match I shot in. (Placed either 2nd or third in all.) I used a model 12VBSS in 243.( 1 in 9.25 twist 26 in long fluted varminter profile.) My powder of choice was 4350. (Either H or IMR.) On seating depth each barrel is different, so what works in one will/or may not work in another.

What is MV? (Are you asking for muzzle velocity?)

With the vaminter barrels I have found that they will keep 5 shot, groups around 4 inch's at 600 yards, and around 8 inches at 1000 yards.

I was just curious if anyone is seating these in/out of the lands and what seems to be working for them. I'm shooting them out of a Model 16 BGH 22" medium contour fluted barrel. I appreciate any feedback/help. I still consider myself a novice reloader. Thanks again.

Mine shot best at .015 off the lands.
