Well guys, I am looking at loading some 75grainers in my Roberts (time to kill some woodchucks) What is your experience? Types of powder? BUllet seating? I have got some 4064 that I use for 100gr sierras, but also some Varget and H4831 laying around. Havent tried the varget in the bob yet, have any of you? Thanks in advance. -Scott

I used IMR 4064 in my straight bob to whack a few 'yotes with. It's now an AI, and I haven't done any varmint loads with it since the change.

Thanks again Slim, I went with 4064 on your recomendation from a post last year, it has served me well! Maybe I should just stick to "If it aint broke dont fix it"

Anybody else load light bullets in their bobs?

IMR-4064 works for me in .257AI also. I shoot 87 gr. Bergers touching the lands. On PD's I have to head shoot or hit center mass or they zip right through. On anything larger (ground hogs, yotes, lopes) it's devastating. I've been thinking about a 75 gr bullet also. I'm sure there's other .257 shooters here that will answer soon. Dale

I load 75 Speer HP with IMR4895, 42.5g =3200 and sub MOA groups. Your altitude and temp could make things max. use caution. It was right in the middle of one of my reloading manual and worked excellent on rockchucks
and shot cloverleaf 3 shot groups. I know you can run this 75 out of a Bob several hundred feet faster but I on picked this one and it was deadly out to 300yards. Good luck, IJ
