i painted the stock on my Stevens with an enamel based spray and am not happy with the end results. the color looks great but after 6 months it is still sticky in some spots. what can i use to remove the paint without damaging the plastics the stock is made from?

what type of enamel did you use? You might try something like mineral spirits or acetone first, as they are less aggressive than say laquer thinner. id try one of these in a small spot first and see what it does. if its not too hard on the plastic use something like a scotch brite and the solvent and scrub it off, an old toothbrush should work on the checkering. if you dont have either try finger polish remover as its main ingredient is acetone i believe. try that and see where it gets ya.

It would probably cost less to buy another take off stock.

^^^ i agree spend 12$ to be a member here and pick up another stock in the classifieds for about 20 bucks.
