trigger pull weight gage

Does any body have a good, cheap, semi accurate way to measure trigger pull weight?

Gun UNloaded...
Barrel up...
String or wire to trigger...
Other end to empty coffee can...
Add sand or coins, whatever, until it trips...
Then weigh it -- the can, NOT the gun -- at your local Post Office.

Sometimes a "DeLiar" fishing scale works OK too.

RCBS sells a low-cost ($20?) and a medium-cost ($40?) trigger pull scale (with springs), and if you really get serious, Lyman makes an electronic one ($60?).

I use a digital fish scale $10.

Yea I got a digital one off ebay a few days ago for $5 and works great. Pretty consistent too

i always used the fish scale too

I just use water. Then pour in a measure cup that shows ounces.

1 ounce. Haven't you heard the old saying "a pints a pound the world around"?
Actually it weighs a teensy bit more than 1 ounce but hardly enough to matter, something like 43 thousandths of an ounce more.

OK got out the scale. 1 oz.water by volume =369 grains. 1oz by weight = 437 grains
This is my well water your mileage may vary. But this tells me 1oz. by volume is not 1oz by weight.
Please set me straight on this. Am I figuring wrong?

No, your right. one oz lead wont = one oz of gunpowder by volume either
