Does this thing ever shoot! Went to the range to sight in my new Redfield 4-12x40. Decided to take it out to 200. I would have gone for 300, but they only allowed shooting at the metal plates at 300. I sot some Sierra Game Kings as well, but they grouped 2-2.5" at 200 yds.

Herman,
I am with you. I read all the gripes on other boards about the Edge. But at the range my 308 Edge XP puts em dead center, even with a lousy trigger. LOL ;)
I need to get one of these in 223 next. At $300 each I can collect a range of calibers.

Nice shnooting! Looks like you gota real keeper in the Savage. I too went to the range today, talking 2 of our Savage model 12's and things just could not have been better for shooting groups with factory ammo. Those guns shoot under 1-MOA with Federal and Remginton ammo. Calibers being a .204-Ruger and .223 Rem.

With the federal bulk 100 pack from Walmart I got about 2" groups at 100 yds - not too back for cheap bulk ammo. That's the only factory ammo I've shot through it (I got it to reuse the brass). Otherwise I shoot all hand loads.
My next goal is to find a range that allows for 300+ yard shots.

Reload ;) Other than that, start buying different kinds of ammo and see what gives you good success.
