When using the JLK's on my 6.5x47 Lapua, well the bullet is long and slender. When the JLK hits the lands, I only have about 1/2 of the bullet in the neck of the brass! Bergers and Lapua use most of the next when seating!

Anybody else run into this? Even though they shot OK today, I just don't trust them. I can see where the end of the case is streched with the bullet and the body side is not, so I know only about 1/2 of the bullet is making it in the brass!

Let me know your thoughts!

Sit the bullet in the mouth of a sized case, and measure the length from base to ogive like you would seating depth. Compare this to your regular seating depth. General thumb-rule is you should have roughly 1/2 caliber of bearing surface in the neck. Bear in mind its a thumb-rule - it works for a lot of things but its not hard and fast. I have one .308 Win barrel that a B155.5BT seated 45 thou *off* the lands has just under 100 thou of bearing surface in the neck - and shoots better than I can hold.
