anyone load the hornady 60 grain hp in 22-250?
I want to try some in my 12bvss
my thoughts are to use the hornady 60 hp and i could jump to the
winchester 64grainer for deer.
also thought i would try the new superformance powder.
today i got a can of powder and 100 of the 60hp's to try(if it ever get's nice out)

if anyone has used the 60hp by hornady how has it worked out for you?
how do they perform on small game or vartmints etc?
sure i wll take your load info incase the superformance don't work out.
thanks kurt

Not the Hornady, but I shot lots of Sierra 60g HP's out of a 12FVSS.

My go to powder was IMR 3031 with Win. brass and Fed 210 Primer

What's the twist in these rifles?

My 12FVSS was a 1:12 twist. I also had excellent accuracy while fireforming 223AI in a 1:14 twist. The Sierra is a fairly long bullet but it has a short nose profile with lots of bearing surface....it stabilizes easily.

.

Have not tried the 60 grain Hornady in the 22-250.

But have used it in the 22-6mm wildcat.

The spirepoint produces more effect than the hollowpoint.

For my shots under a hundred yards, find the 50 grain Hornady makes more splash.

I used to shoot Hornady 60gr HP out of my 22-250. Then switched to 55gr Nosler BT and once Hornady Vmax came out I switched to the 60gr V-Max and thats my pet load now.
The HP have a BC of .271 and the Vmax .265 but I liked the pefromance of the Vmax better on Chucks and Yotes. I see the Nosler 60gr BT have a BC of .270 so slightly better than the Vmax if you want to spend a couple $$ extra per 100.
