I met a couple of friends at the range yesterday. One hadn't really shot much at all... OK, he was so green, he needed MOWING!

:D

I took out my 12F, another Savage I just screwed another barrel into, and my Contender.

I set up the 12F in the bags, got it lined up and ready, and had the "newbie" sit behind it. I gave him the instructions, which he actually listened to, and dang if he didn't shoot a true one hole 5 shot group @ 100!

Now he's talking like he wants one...

Gotta love those Savage's.

I know what you mean.

I took my 15 year old son out early last spring to shoot my F/TR for the (his) first time. He shot a 5/8", 5 shot group at 100 yds.
His reaction was the flip side of your new shooters reaction.
My boy told me that I was no big deal, and said that if he could do that on the first try then it couldn't be all that hard. ::)

Ah, the arrogance of youth. Young eyes and a steady hand help also.
