Savage 10FP (LE series) same as standard 10,11 etc hunting rifles??

Just wondering if the 10FP has the same action as a regular 10 series hunting rifle. I know everything else is different (stock,barrel weight etc) but if I get it I was going to tear it apart and build something with the action. just wondering if it is worth the extra price.

Same action. If the plan is to tear it down and build something else, just buy one of the package guns from Wal-mart for $397 and use that action or find a Stevens if you plan on replacing the accu-trigger anyway.

+1 on the walmart guns. They make excellent donors. Sportsman's warehouse also has some cheap ones with DBM set up for low $400's that work well too

I just "finished" my first on a Wal-mart donor. The second is still in the box waiting on a stock.
