Im really excited to see what kind of groups I'll get with some factory stuff since I dont reload,Im hoping this can be by new all time hunting rifle.I live out west so I think this is the perfect setup for me gonna put a Weaver v series 4x16 on it and hope It works itself out

Hope it is a shooter. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't like certain factory loads. Just fine one it likes and go with it.

Are you going to be using this for hunting or target shooting? The 20 MOA base is not suitable for hunting unless you plan on some very long shots and carry something else with you in case you jump something close. It will shoot 20 inches high at 100, 40 at 200, 60 at 300, and so on.

Yes the primary use for this rig will be hunting, the way Im understanding the 20 MOA rail is that basically it will give me another 20 moa in scope adjustments correct?I could use that as the way its sitting now Ive only got about 12 moa left on scope adjustments for elevation and Im still way left for windage with no adjustments left in the scope, could I use the burris rings and shims to get my windage back?all help is appreciated

I use the burris rings and shims to get my windage back?

Yup, with Signature Zee rings & the insert kit.

Dowby77...i have a Rem 300 RUM with the 20 MOA rail on it and a Zeiss Conquest 6x20 with the Kenton custom dial for different yardages....i shot a 5x5 mulie at approx 80 yards this past season..........i have it sighted in dead on @ 200 yards....and can shoot all the way out to 1000 with out a problem......go with the 20 MOA rail......here in New Mexico, there are not a lot of close up "jump" shots....but plenty of 100-1000 chances :o....rsbhunter

thanks for clearing that up for me fellas.I got meduim burris signature rings with the inserts and now have 49 MOA in elevation and 28 MOA in the wind going right and 42 MOA going left.Im a happy camper,9 MOA puts me on at 500 and I made that shot the other day.looking to figure it out to about 800 or so.Its a tack driver by the way,Stacks factory 130 federal rds at 100 yards, and the accutrigger is so nice its set at 38oz.I like it

I ended up not getting the rail because of my big fat digits and Ive got enough MOA to make a 1000 yard shot without it and I dont plan on taking game that far so I guess it works itself out, thanks for the advice fellas
